Sunday Lunchtime (8th October) brought a new twist to the ‘El Glassico’ series of fixtures when the Team Coaches from Pilkington FC Juniors & FC St Helens Juniors came head-to-head in a Fundraising ‘Friendly’ at the Arco Frame Stadium.
In a keenly-anticipated match-up, the Pilkington FC coaches came away with the local bragging rights after a thumping 10-1 victory.
However, the big winners of the day were the respective Junior sections who, thanks to the tremendous support of the respective club coaches, players and parents who both attended and contributed to proceedings, raised a whopping £600 which will be shared between the two Junior sections to help provide further sporting or social opportunities to the children of both Clubs.
A big thanks also goes to Pilkington’s own Scott Boswell, who was the main co-ordinator of the event.
